The most visible were on both arms: the Hindu goddess Durga, a tiger orchid, the French word androgène, a Buddhist third eye, a zen circle symbol, the Chinese character for "control." The Chinese character for "strength" was tattooed above his heart.

He loosened James' tie, and started unbuttoning his shirt then as well.
